For some devices, over short distances, wireless is a wonderful thing. But those wireless signals have to “land” somewhere, and that “somewhere” is an Access Point that is wired to your network switch. The more employees you have, or the more spread out they are, the more of those Access Points you need. In addition, there are ongoing security concerns about wireless networking. Another issue can be that some devices aren’t even capable of being used wirelessly, so they need cables too. So, for the time being, standard cabling is still the backbone of your company’s network infrastructure.
